From 28 to 31 May 2026, Padel Malta's courts in Pembroke hosted the FIP Bronze Pragmatic Play Open Malta, part of the CUPRA FIP Tour 2026. It was the first International Padel Federation (FIP) Tour event ever held in Malta, and a big milestone for padel on the island.

International padel in Pembroke

The FIP Tour is the international circuit run by the International Padel Federation, where players earn FIP ranking points. The Malta event brought 90 players from 17 countries to Pembroke, and turned our club into a full international tournament venue for four days.

Four days of high-level matches

Hundreds of spectators watched fast, high-level padel up close from courtside, and the tournament was covered on national TV. For many local players it was their first chance to see international competition live, on the same courts they play on every week.

The finals

Men's final: José Solano Marmolejo and Ramiro Pereyra beat Marcel Font and Giuseppe Fino 7–6, 6–1.

Women's final: Julia Polo Bautista and Marina Lobo beat Liza Groenveld and Constança Gorito 6–4, 6–1.

Congratulations to both winning pairs, and to every player who made the finals so exciting to watch.

Thank you to the team

An event like this only happens with a great team behind it. A big thank you to our staff and volunteers, the International Padel Federation, the Malta Padel Federation, and all the sponsors and partners who made the week possible.

Play where the pros played

The courts that hosted Malta's first FIP Tour event are open to everyone. Book a court in Pembroke, or join one of our Friday Socials to meet other players.
